Comprehensive Plan Timeline
The Village of Airmont Comprehensive Plan was recommended to the Village of Airmont Board of Trustees December 10, 2007 and was adopted with revisions on September 19, 2011. View adopted plan from 2011.
On September 19, 2016 it was recommended by the Planning and Zoning Board members to the Board of Trustees that there were numerous inconsistencies and conflicts in the the code which warranted a review of the existing comprehensive plan.
On October 3, 2016 the Village Board of Trustees passed a resolution establishing the Airmont Comprehensive Master Plan Review Committee to commence the work of reviewing and recommending updates and changes to the Comprehensive Master Plan and the Village zoning code;
On February 8, 2017, the Village Board of Trustees passed an interim land use development moratorium while revisions to the Village Master Plan and zoning code are considered;
On March 8, 2017 the State of New York accepted the Villages Local Law No. 1 of 2017 on the Moratorium which is currently in effect until September 8, 2017;
On June 28, 2017, the Village issued a press release notifying residents of a Public Open House Workshop taking place on July 19, 2017 at 7:00pm.
On July 17, 2017 the Village Board of Trustees extended the Moratorium on building development within the Village of Airmont for six months to March 8, 2018.

On March 13, 2018, a public hearing was held on the draft of the Updated Comprehensive Plan.
On May 30, 2018 and amended timeline for the Comprehensive Plan was published.
On June 18, 2018, a public hearing was held to adopt the proposed Comprehensive Plan.
On September 4, 2018 the Village Board adopted the proposed amendments to laws 106 (fees), 147-18, and 210.
